If you search 2026 for social media automation, you quickly land on Buffer, Hootsuite or Later. These are good publishing tools – but not what users from the MassPlanner and JARVEE era mean.
This article covers the other category: software that automates follow/unfollow, likes, comments, reposts, direct messages, story views or other account actions. This market still exists, but it is considerably more fragmented than before.
The short answer: there is no true 1:1 replacement for the old JARVEE. The closest are JarveePro and SU Social as classic desktop suites. SMTasker pursues the same idea via Android devices. PhantomBuster is stronger as a cloud workflow and prospecting platform. Add Socinator, FollowLiker and smaller browser extensions.
Important: many of these functions operate outside what platforms allow through their official APIs. A tool can work technically and still violate platform rules or create account risks.

1. JarveePro: The most obvious JARVEE replacement – but not the old JARVEE
The original JARVEE has ended. jarvee.com still shows "Service Permanently Closed". If you search for JARVEE today, you should therefore distinguish between the historical product and JarveePro.
JarveePro is currently active and offers exactly the functional class that power users of the old tool seek: auto-follow and unfollow, likes, comments, story and reel interactions, posting, DMs and multi-account control. The current pricing structure covers ten core platforms; higher plans extend device, AI and integration features.
In functional terms, JarveePro is therefore the most direct candidate for users who want a single control panel for many accounts and networks.
Strengths
- very broad platform coverage
- follow/unfollow, likes, comments and DMs in one suite
- multi-account and campaign logic
- publishing and engagement in the same system
- a considerably more modern AI/workflow layer than old desktop bots
Weaknesses
- more complex than simple cloud tools
- many functions are necessarily based on unofficial engagement actions
- the name may give the impression that it is simply the former JARVEE; this should not be assumed
Suitable for: Power users and agencies looking for as many of the old JARVEE functions as possible in one product.

2. SU Social: the most classic MassPlanner/JARVEE style
SU Social conceptually feels the most like the old desktop automation. The Windows software runs locally or on a Windows VPS and has separate tools for individual platforms.
For Instagram, SU Social lists, among others, auto-follow, follow-back, unfollow, auto-like, auto-comment, repost, direct messages, story viewer, user and hashtag research, and proxy support. Similar modules exist for other networks.
The documentation is unusually deep: follow, unfollow, like, repost and messaging tools are configured as standalone modules.
Strengths
- very granular
- many classic growth actions
- several networks in one application
- free five-day trial
- from 39,97 dollars per month for ten accounts in the current Basic package
Weaknesses
- Windows-first
- computer or VPS must be running for 24/7 operation
- broad engagement automation across several platforms collides with their rules
- the interface and operating model are aimed more at experienced operators than at ordinary social media teams
Suitable for: Users who explicitly miss the old "one tool per action" logic of MassPlanner and JARVEE.

3. SMTasker: follow, like and more via Android instead of an embedded browser
SMTasker mainly changes the technical execution. Instead of operating the platform primarily from a desktop or cloud session, supported actions are carried out via connected Android devices or emulators. A local client on Windows or macOS and a browser dashboard control the devices.
SMTasker currently lists eight platforms: Instagram, TikTok, Threads, Reddit, Snapchat, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn. On Instagram, the feature set includes likes, saves, follows, unfollows, comments, messages, story/Reels views and publishing.
This makes SMTasker particularly interesting for former JARVEE users who no longer want to rely on a purely desktop-based session architecture.
Strengths
- Actions run within the mobile apps
- The platform mix also includes Threads and Snapchat
- Clear separation of individual automations
- Live logs and device assignment
- Solo plan from 19 dollars per month
Weaknesses
- An Android device or compatible emulator is part of the setup
- Your computer and local client must remain available
- Running native app actions does not automatically mean platform approval
- More operational infrastructure than with a pure SaaS solution
An interesting detail: both the old domains jarvee.com and massplanner.com have published 2026 positive SMTasker articles. However, an officially confirmed successor relationship cannot be derived from this.
Suitable for: Agencies and multi-account operators who want to centrally control real mobile app actions.

4. PhantomBuster: Less bot suite, more cloud workflow
PhantomBuster only partly belongs in the same category. The platform today is strongly focused on lead generation, data extraction, enrichment and outreach. Nevertheless, concrete social automations still exist.
For Instagram, PhantomBuster offers, for example, auto-follow, auto-unfollow and auto-like. The automations run in the cloud and can be combined into workflows via lists and other Phantoms.
The difference from JarveePro or SU Social lies less in individual features than in the operating model: PhantomBuster thinks in Phantoms, data sets and workflow chains rather than in a permanently running social media desktop bot.
Strengths
- Cloud instead of your own Windows VPS
- Strong data and workflow linking
- Very good for prospecting and LinkedIn-oriented processes
- Automations can be modularly connected
Weaknesses
- Execution time and slots are billed
- quickly expensive for permanent high-volume operation
- less suitable than a central "automate everything" cockpit
- platform risk remains for engagement actions
The starter plan currently costs 69 dollars per month, or 56 dollars per month with annual billing.
Suitable for: Teams that combine social automation with lead lists, data extraction and sales workflows.

5. Socinator: still real engagement features, but a product in transition
Socinator is a special case. The current homepage positions the product strongly as an AI agent per social profile that creates content, schedules it and publishes it after approval. At the same time, current or still reachable product pages for Instagram and Facebook advertise classic features such as auto-like, auto-comment, follow/unfollow and repost.
If you are buying Socinator specifically for engagement automation, you should therefore first clarify which current plan or product package actually includes these legacy features.
For a comparison, Socinator is still relevant, because historically it was one of the best-known direct JARVEE competitors and the corresponding feature pages are still online.
Suitable for: Users who already know Socinator or are evaluating both content agents and classic automation – but only after concrete confirmation of the desired feature scope.

6. FollowLiker: the legacy veteran lives on at its website
FollowLiker is almost a historical document of this tool category. The website still sells editions for Instagram, X, Pinterest and Tumblr. Advertised are follow, unfollow, like, unlike, posting and further automations.
The public price overview lists 97,99 dollars one-time plus 5,99 dollars monthly after the first month for the Instagram edition.
The problem is not the feature list, but the product freshness. Large parts of the public presence appear significantly older than those of JarveePro, SU Social or SMTasker. If you are considering FollowLiker 2026, you should therefore directly verify support, the latest functional updates and current platform compatibility before buying.
Suitable for: Legacy users who already know the product. For newcomers there are more transparent current options.

7. Browser extensions: cheap, local – but no real JARVEE suite
Another category is Chrome extensions that work directly within an already logged-in Instagram session. Current examples such as AutoFollow or Orbit advertise auto-follow, unfollow and auto-like.
The advantage is obvious: no Windows VPS, no external login and low entry costs. However, they usually lack the infrastructure for many accounts, multiple platforms, complex campaigns and central error handling.
For a single Instagram account, this class can be practical. For an agency with twenty profiles, it is no substitute for JarveePro, SU Social or SMTasker.
Which tool is 2026 the best JARVEE alternative?
If the question really is "What replaces JARVEE?" rather than "Which scheduler is good?", the current products paint a fairly clear picture:
- JarveePro is the broadest modern all-in-one approach and comes closest to the original feature idea.
- SU Social is the most classic desktop bot suite and is the closest to "MassPlanner in modern form".
- SMTasker is the most interesting alternative if actions should run via Android and real mobile apps.
- PhantomBuster is better when data extraction, prospecting and workflow chains matter more than a permanent engagement bot dashboard.
- Socinator should be checked specifically for the desired feature set 2026 because of its product overhaul.
- FollowLiker is more of a legacy candidate than our first recommendation for a new start.
The more important question: what may you actually automate?
Technical feature scope is only half of the comparison. The platforms themselves now draw very clear lines.
Instagram's terms of use prohibit, among other things, automated access or automated data collection without explicit permission. Official Meta APIs exist for legitimate third-party automation – but typical growth actions such as mass follow/unfollow or auto-likes are not among the normal approved marketing workflows.
On X, the rule is particularly clear: automated likes are not permitted under the current automation rules. Automated follow/unfollow must not be mass, aggressive or indiscriminate; automatic reposts are only permissible within the general rules.
LinkedIn prohibits, in its User Agreement, bots and other unauthorised automated methods, including for adding contacts, sending messages, and creating, commenting on, liking, sharing or re-sharing posts.
YouTube prohibits automated systems that artificially inflate views, likes, comments or other metrics. Even if an external service is commissioned, the channel owner remains responsible for violations.
TikTok permits automated interactions via its developer services only within the documented and approved framework, and prohibits unauthorised bots, scraping and circumventing technical restrictions.
This means: "runs via a real Android phone" or "simulates human behaviour" is not the same as "permitted by the platform".
Our recommendation by use case
For the most complete MassPlanner/JARVEE replacement JarveePro or SU Social.
Both combine publishing and real engagement actions across many platforms. JarveePro looks more modern in its current product presentation; SU Social, on the other hand, offers very detailed classic automation modules.
For mobile/native app automation SMTasker.
The Android model is technically different from the old desktop suites and is particularly interesting for multi-account workflows focused on Instagram/TikTok.
For lead generation and social prospecting PhantomBuster.
If the end result is more of a prospect list, an enrichment workflow or an outreach process, PhantomBuster makes more sense than a classic growth bot suite.
For a single account A browser extension may have less overhead. For business-critical brand accounts, however, we would generally advise caution with unofficial engagement automation.
Conclusion: The JARVEE category is not dead – it has split
MassPlanner and JARVEE stood for a time when a Windows application was meant to automate nearly every social media action from a single dashboard. This product model 2026 exists, but it is no longer a clear market standard.
JarveePro and SU Social keep the classic desktop idea alive. SMTasker shifts execution to Android. PhantomBuster turns it into cloud workflows. Browser extensions reduce the concept to a single account.
For businesses, the decision should therefore not be driven by the longest feature list, but by the execution model and the risk of the specific workflow. Publishing, analytics and opt-in-based messaging automation are something entirely different from automated likes, follows or cold DMs.
If you want to run social media systematically rather than just automatically, you should also combine the bot layer with a solid social media strategy for small businesses, a clear target audience analysis and, for Instagram, a sustainable Instagram marketing strategy.
