Google is expanding the Gemini app with a business hub, reusable brand guidelines and new connections to business applications. The features, announced on 20 October 2026, are set to roll out worldwide to Gemini app users over the coming days. For small marketing teams, the key point is that AI-generated visuals no longer need to be reconfigured for colours, fonts and brand character on every job.
Brand style becomes reusable input
Companies can store their website, a brand kit, fonts or colour palettes in Gemini. The model Nano Banana 2.1 is meant to build on these to create image motifs for campaigns and products and retain the style guidelines for further tasks. That goes beyond single image generation: Google is moving part of visual brand management into the assistant's configuration.
However, this does not automatically approve the visuals. Logos, claims, depicted people and product details still need to be checked. A saved style replaces neither legal review nor channel-specific crops for Reels, Stories or ads.
From drafts to business data: new connections
The new entry point for businesses brings together content creation, financial analysis and customer insights, among other things. Links are mentioned to Google Business Profile, Google Ads and Workspace, as well as to external services such as Canva, Adobe, Shopify, Wix, Zoho, Dropbox and Xero. Google also mentions the option of turning data from spreadsheets and receipts into charts and interactive models.
For marketing managers, the potential time saving lies in the connections: a brief could draw on existing brand materials, shop context and tools already in use. Which data a specific connector transfers, what write permissions apply and how good the results are cannot be generalised from the announcement.
A sensible practical test for German teams
Rather than automating campaigns straight away, a limited test is advisable: generate the same product message as three social visuals, document colour accuracy and image errors, then pass them manually through existing approval processes. For connected accounts, those responsible should check permissions in advance and include sensitive customer data only after appropriate review.
Google had already presented Pics, AI image editing for social content. The new Gmail, Docs and Keep integration in Gemini Live affects further workflows. For merchants, the view of AI visibility in the Merchant Center is a separate, more distribution-related issue.
Conclusion: Gemini is increasingly becoming a working interface for brand assets and connected tools. Whether this leads to consistent social campaigns still depends on data quality, rights and editorial control.
