Meta has turned its previous subscription tests into an official product: Meta One has been rolling out worldwide since 15 September 2026. The offer bundles paid features for Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp with higher AI limits and additional tools for creators and businesses. According to Meta's official announcement, the core functions of the apps and Meta AI are to remain free.
The situation is now considerably more concrete than it was at the start of September. Back then, names such as AI Core and AI Premium were known mainly from tests. Meta now confirms Core and Premium as regular Meta One bundles and, for the first time, names a broader plan framework. According to Meta, more than 50 features have already launched, and in total Meta counts 15 million subscriptions and trial access across the new offers.
Meta One bundles Plus subscriptions and higher AI limits
For private users, Meta combines the individual Plus offers with more access to computationally intensive AI functions. These include additional image and video generation with Meta AI, as well as more use of in-app tools such as Restyle on Instagram.
Prices differ by region and account. A European Meta newsroom page lists Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus at 2,99 euros per month, WhatsApp Plus at 2,49 euros, Core at 6,99 euros and Premium at 20,99 euros. Meta explicitly points out that prices, features and availability may vary by region.
Core bundles the features of the individual Plus subscriptions with higher AI quotas. Premium includes the same basics but is intended to offer more room for creating images, videos and other AI content.
Edits Plus comes with cloud sync and assistant
For social teams, Edits Plus is the most relevant. Meta now officially announces the paid plan as an upcoming part of Meta One. Edits Plus is meant to offer more cloud storage so that projects can be synced and opened across several devices.
In addition, an upcoming Edits assistant is planned. It is meant to analyse Instagram insights and help with new content ideas. Meta speaks of additional use of the assistant for subscribers. The exact limits are still open.
Social Media Today also reports that Edits Plus is to be offered both in Meta One business packages and as a separate subscription. Meta has not yet published a separate price or concrete usage limits for the individual plan.
With this, Meta continues the course that Instagram chief Adam Mosseri had already described for advanced AI features: computationally intensive features remain free within limits, while heavy users can subscribe to additional capacity.
Creator and business packages go considerably further
Meta One is not only aimed at users who want more AI quota. There are dedicated packages for creators and businesses. The European Meta page lists Essential from 16,99 euros per month. Higher tiers add further professional features.
For the Advanced package, Meta mentions, among other things, story planning up to 30 days in advance, links in organic posts and Reels, exportable analytics, more detailed audience insights and team access without password sharing. Depending on the tier, additional WhatsApp devices, broadcast quotas and more access to the Meta Business Agent are also included.
The packages thus make Meta One more than a classic verification subscription. Meta is increasingly combining publishing, analytics, AI production, account management and business messaging in one paid toolkit.
For teams, it is therefore worth comparing costs with tools they already use. Agencies in particular are currently seeing AI and token costs increasingly documented as a separate cost block and, in some cases, newly billed to clients. Meta One shifts part of these costs directly onto the platform.
When the subscription is worth it for social teams
A higher AI limit alone is not yet a reason to switch. What matters is whether Meta One actually replaces existing tools or creates an additional item in the stack. If you already use external tools for image production, video, planning and analytics, you should weigh the features against your existing workflow.
For creative teams, it is especially relevant how well Meta's own tools work together with existing production processes. Our guide to AI images for social media explains why reference material and clear brand rules matter more than pure generation limits. With Google Pics, competition in integrated AI image editing is also growing.
Platform rules also remain part of the workflow. Instagram labels AI profiles more clearly and limits the reach of unlabelled artificial accounts. More production capacity does not change the need to regulate transparency, rights and distribution cleanly.
Meta One is therefore above all another step towards monetising professional social media workflows. For occasional users the basics remain free. For creators, agencies and businesses, Meta is trying to bundle more and more functions that were previously spread across several external tools directly into Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Meta AI and, in future, Edits.
