Meta is detailing the paid Edits Plus tier: 200 GB of cloud storage for video projects, plus additional use of AI features. The exact storage amount is described in the Edits help and was picked up on October 21, 2026 by Social Media Today. The price and German launch date are still open.
Why cloud storage matters for video teams
Unlike a plain archive for exported videos, Edits is meant to back up projects, offload them from the device and make them accessible on other devices. Meta cites syncing between devices running the same operating system as an example. Whether switching between iOS and Android is fully supported is not confirmed.
For agencies the difference is significant: a finished reel can be downloaded, but an editable cut with timeline and working material is far more valuable. Open questions remain about shared team access, storage periods after cancellation and exporting complete project files.
More AI is announced, usage limits are not
In the Meta One announcement from September, Meta already described Edits Plus as a future offering. It includes additional access to the planned Edits assistant, which is meant to analyse Instagram insights and suggest new content ideas. We classified this feature in our article on the AI assistant in Edits.
Meta has not yet specified a number of additional AI requests, generated clips or effects. Prices of other Meta One tiers are therefore no reliable substitute for the not-yet-published Edits Plus price.
What creators should check before subscribing
If you create reels for several brands, consider not only storage size and monthly fee but also project export, recovery, device switching, team sharing and rights to raw material. The existing overview of Meta One subscriptions for businesses and creators describes the wider tier model. The recent carousel editor expansion, by contrast, concerns the video app itself, not automatically the Plus tier.
Conclusion: Meta is developing Edits into a broader production environment with paid extras. Confirmed are 200 GB of cloud storage and additional AI usage. It does not follow that the Edits app will generally cost money, and an advantage for Instagram reach is not proven by this.
