Planning creator campaigns and marketing the resulting reach yourself: these two business models are coming together. The agencies LV8 and Mirage are pooling their activities. Velocity Capital Management comes in as an investor, while founder Griffin Haddrill remains managing director. The companies announced this on 2 November 2026.
The connection is more interesting than an ordinary agency merger: LV8 works for brands on social-first campaigns and creator collaborations. Mirage operates and sells its own digital distribution channels. Together they form a provider that not only produces content but can also distribute and monetise it across its own media properties.
More than 70 channels instead of just campaign orders
According to the corporate announcement distributed via Business Wire[](https://alpha-maven.com/story/private-equity/velocity-capital-management-acquires-stake-in-lv8-and-mirage-backing-founder-griffin-haddrillampaposs-next-act), Mirage now has more than 70 owned content channels on social platforms, on the web and in ad-supported streaming. The network has reportedly generated over two billion views in total.
Velocity intends to support the combined group, among other things, with further acquisitions. The companies have not published a specific valuation or investment amount. Adweek reported on 2 November that the funding was in the high double-digit millions.
The build-out follows a traceable pattern: the agency wins brand budgets, the content studio bundles creator material, and the owned channels create additional ad inventory. This allows a campaign to be monetised for longer and across more formats.
Carwow shows why YouTube alone is no longer the end point
A concrete example is Mirage's partnership with Carwow. At the end of June, both companies announced a dedicated, free and ad-supported Carwow channel on Samsung TV Plus. Presenter Mat Watson's car videos thus move from smartphones and YouTube onto the television as well. Carwow is also active in the German market.
According to the joint press release of 29 June 2026, Carwow's YouTube network reaches 14 million subscribers across six regional channels. Mirage describes a network with more than 300 creator partnerships. With FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television), the existing video catalogue gains another ad-supported showcase.
The deal thus fits into the broader shift we have already described in YouTube as a TV channel: creator content is also competing for advertising time on the big screen.
What changes for brands and creators
For advertisers, booking shifts from individual influencer posts toward packages combining creation, distribution and monetisable reach. Offers therefore increasingly emphasise usage rights, re-publication, guaranteed delivery and reporting. This very predictability also underlies the new creator upfronts for advertising deals.
Creators, in turn, can earn additional revenue from older videos when licensing and revenue sharing are clearly regulated. Agencies, however, face a conflict of interest: whoever owns the channels and also evaluates the campaign should make their performance data transparent.
The LV8–Mirage merger is part of a broader consolidation in the creator industry. The acquisition of Get Engaged by SAMY likewise reflects the expansion of international creator services. With LV8, a decisive additional layer comes into play: owned media reach rather than mere intermediation.
