Discord is expanding its advertising offering with the Discord Ads Manager and new Video Quests. For the first time, the platform bundles campaign planning, delivery and reporting in a dedicated advertising tool. According to Discord, full self-service is planned for early 2027.
First dedicated Ads Manager
The Ads Manager is meant to bring together forecasting, goal-based bidding, budget control and reporting in one place. Discord uses an auction model with dynamic pricing. Currently, selected advertisers receive managed access; the broad opening of self-service is announced for early 2027.
Over time, this should lower the entry barrier for smaller studios and brands. Our overview of gaming advertising and the low media spend relative to reach shows why this opening matters for marketing teams.
Video Quests rely on voluntary attention
The new Video Quests are designed mobile-first. Users start the ad voluntarily and receive Discord Orbs as a reward after roughly 15 seconds. Initially, campaigns can be optimised for impressions and clicks; further goals have been announced.
The existing Video Quest offering continues as Video Quests Reserve. In this reservation-based variant, the reward is tied to full playback.
Discord cites a median completion rate of 97 percent for Quests. The figure comes from internal Discord data as of 30 June 2026 and should accordingly be classified as a provider claim.
Discord moves closer to classic social ad systems
Discord reports more than 90 million daily active users in the second quarter of 2026. With the Ads Manager, auction logic and reporting, the advertising offering is evolving more toward established social ad platforms, while retaining its own mechanics with Quests and Rewards.
Similar developments can be seen on other platforms. TikTok is automating more campaign work with Agentic Hub and Symphony, while Meta continues to expand AI creatives and attribution.
For German marketing teams, the key questions are how Discord shapes self-service, regional availability, targeting and measurement 2027 in concrete terms.
